Gaelic Blessing

This month we said goodbye to our Assistant Minster and his wife as he retires and they move to pastures new. Being of Northern Irish descent this traditional Irish Blessing was read at their last service. It is very beautiful and was not only appropriate for them but seems entirely suitable for May in its poetry. So I offer it to you here:

May The Road Rise Up To Meet You

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
